I found about about a site that lists privacy- and security-focused alternatives to lots of software and services people use every day. I noticed that Brave isn’t in the their listed of alternatives to Chrome. Digging into the FAQ shows this:
WHY ISN’T BRAVE LISTED IN THE BROWSER ALTERNATIVES?
Brave is funded by venture capital (including Peter Thiel) and its business model is built around advertising. They block ads on sites you browse, and replace them with their own ads. VC money combined with online ad-based business models has always resulted in privacy invasion, sooner or later.
Perhaps someone from Brave wants to contact them about this.
