Brave is Not working after update

I’m using brave for almost 3 years and not after update brave is not working( not even opening). For issue like this I tried to uninstall the privacy templates and all other files related to brave. I havent logged in once or signed for once, i was using it as guest account. Now brave is not opening. Even it opens sometime, it shows the profile picker is block, some features are unavailable or unaccessible by your administrator. I don’t know what should I do. Help me out

Take a look at:

PC crash Windows 11 Brave now won't launch - #4 by Saoiray

its still now working
What should I do. Brave’s policy templates admx, i run that program and after that brave stopped working and then policy templates were deleted

@SahilSakolkar apologies but I’m slightly confused on the order of events here. If I understand correctly, you’re saying that you installed Brave some time ago and then at some point, downloaded the Brave Group Policy templates onto your machine and modified them and the browser continued working without issue up until the most recent update?

If that is the case and you’re okay with starting fresh (which I assume you are given that you already tried uninstalling), I would recommend the nuclear option here. That is, uninstall Brave via Windows Add/remove programs and make sure you elect to delete the associated browsing data as well when prompted by checking the box during the uninstall process, shown in the image below:

Then, go ahead and delete any Brave related Group policy templates/rules.

Once everything is deleted, download and reinstall the browser fresh and let me know if it launches normally.

I have tried this method, but still it is not working. After running the admx file from the policy templates there was one window popped up(image below). Then after that, brave is not opening, it is completely crashed now.

This image was after running the admx file.:up_arrow:

This image after the upper image after I clicked on yes.

@SahilSakolkar people from Brave tend not to work on American holidays or weekends. You may need to wait a few days to get follow-up from @Mattches.

I’d try to help, but my knowledge is limited in general. Once we talk about you trying to modify admx files, we go beyond any realm of general knowledge I have.

At face value it just sounds like you’re doing something wrong with your admx file. I’m not sure if it’s wrong values, added to the wrong location, or what might be happening. Again, definitely is not something I’ve ever used or know much about myself.

Yes I think what @Saoiray is accurate. It’s likely just that something you’re changing in the template files is either not being done correctly or Brave can’t handle whatever it is that you’re trying to change and so it crashes.

It would be helpful to know exactly what changes you were making when this issue occurs.

What OS is that? You have a problem with Windows that reflects on Brave. No support can help you if your OS is broken. You have to provide more information. In the best case, you uninstall Brave, run some Cleaner application, restart the system and reinstall Brave and do not mess with it. It has to work.
