Additional Information:

@sharaak this is likely an issue with a particular extension you have installed in the browser. Can you please try disabling your extensions and test again and see if the browser still crashes? Additionally, can you please go to brave://crashes and share any crash report IDs with me here so we can take a look at what might be causing it?

@Mattches

It is a brand new install so I dont have any extensions installed and when I went to the link you shared it says Crash reporting is disabled.

Can you share a screenshot of your brave://crashes page please?

Can you please click the Send now button on the first two of those and then share the crash report IDs generated?

Ive clicked on send now button but it hasnt done anything:

Thank you – I’ve submitted this to the team for review. Hope to have more information for you soon.

@Mattches I have the other two ids:

8f510300-06f9-b50d-0000-000000000000

12760100-06f9-b50d-0000-000000000000

@sharaak thank you for the information – adding this to the previous crash reprot.

I’ve opened the following issue on this – looks like other users are also seeing the same crash:

Linking @clifton’s comment from the Github issue:

OK it seems this is the check being hit
https://source.chromium.org/chromium/chromium/src/+/main:components/autofill/core/browser/data_quality/addresses/profile_requirement_utils.cc;l=39;drc=d713923d60b4d838e017a35dc253062ac05296b6

I’m not exactly sure why Chromium thinks country should throw a CHECK. Folks experiencing this can try to set a country for the autofill. Visit brave://settings/addresses and edit the addresses, set the country, see if that works.

As suggested, try setting the country for autofill in addresses & more and see if this resolves the issue.
