Brave is blocking Plausible Analytics script

Brave is blocking the default Plausible Analytics script.

For example:

  • https://plausible.io/js/plausible.js gets blocked on https://getdoks.org/
  • https://stats.getdoks.org/js/index.js gets blocked onhttps://getdoks.org/

I understand why it gets blocked, but I think Plausible Analytics can be trusted.

:point_right: Is it possible to add Plausible to a White List?

Using:

  • Brave Version 1.17.73 Chromium: 87.0.4280.67 (Official Build) (64-bit)
  • Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.630

We block many analytics companies (including plausible). Just disable tracker and ads on your test/dev sites if you need to be tracked.

Brave DOES block the Plausible script when served from a subdomain — see e.g. the Doks website.

However, Brave does NOT block the Plausible script when served from the main domain — see e.g. the Plausible website.

It looks like Brave — brutally — blocks ALL assets served from a subdomain. I just hoped there was a whitelist, making it possible to serve certain (non malicious) scripts from a subdomain.

So, now it is ONLY possible to serve the Plausible script from the main domain.
