Brave immediately shuts down

Description of the issue:
Upon starting Brave, it seems to start but almost immediately closes. If I reload, it says we are embarrassed that it shutdown do you want to reload tabs. I say yes and the process repeats. Trying several times will sometimes work. But often if it does, choosing another tab will repeat the whole process. It kind of follows specific tabs but does not seem to be completely repeatable. Trying enough gets it going again but it invariably starts again soon usually if I leave the browser and come back. I updated from 1.15.2 to 1.16 without any benefit.

Worked fine for several months. Only started within last week or possibly two.
