Brave hard locks on debian when running lxqt desktop. After hard killed, will not start either. This was also reported for Lubuntu here and a few other posts: Brave Browser refuses to launch on Lubuntu 24.04 (LXQt) - #3
How can this issue be reproduced?
- apt install brave-browser running fine in GNOME, switch to lxqt.
- Set Lxqt Settings → Preferences → Appearance → Widget Style to “gtk2”
- Brave instantly hard locks unresponsive and needs to be killed. After killed, will not start until Widget style is set to something else.
- Tried in Brave settings to switch between Classic / GTK / Qt etc. no difference locked every time.
Expected result:
Brave not to hard lock. Chromium and FF are both fine.

Additional Information:
Unfortunately I had to uninstall brave-browser due to this bug. A big part of the reason I changed to Lxqt from gnome was because they broke theming with GTK4. Anyway, wanted to at least take the time to file a bugreport since who knows how many others uninstall without taking the effort to at least report what happened.
Thanks for all your work.
