Description of the issue:
When I attempt to load a National Weather Service forecast page for a specific location, my Mac hangs: I can’t quit Brave, close the tab, access the Finder, etc. The cursor won’t move; the keyboard doesn’t work. When I run Activity Monitor alongside Brave the display stays static as soon as system hangs; CPU metrics aren’t updated. The browser status bar sometimes says “Waiting for forecast.weather.gov”; other times the status bar stays blank.
After trying things like deleting browser history, etc. I removed Brave and its associated Library files, emptied the trash, and re-downloaded/installed Brave. The fresh copy does the same thing (and has all default settings/preferences, no bookmarks, etc.)
I’m hoping for some additional things to try. I like using Brave and would like to continue using it. Thanks–
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Enter this URL in the address bar:
https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=37.8051&lon=-122.2731#.XayUvS2ZP4M - Attempt to load the page.
This consistently reproduces the problem on my Mac.
Expected result:
Weather forecast for Oakland, CA
Brave Version:
0.69.135 Chromium: 77.0.3865.120 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Additional Information:
Early 2013 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro running 10.14.6 Mojave.
Earlier this month I factory-reset the Mac and took it to Apple for a battery replacement. I got it back on October 14th, at which point it passed all diagnostics. I don’t know if this issue happens with any other sites, but all of the other sites I’ve tried so far have loaded fine. In addition, the NWS site (via the link above and others) works fine on Safari 12.1.2.
