Brave Freezes my Linux VM (Oracle Virtual Box)

I would like to reopen #104073

I have a debian 12 VM. I use it in a Linux environment (host is Ubuntu 24) on a Lenovo E14.

Description of the issue:
I used to have the same setup under Windows 10, but then the company decided to move to Windows 11 and that locked out HW acceleration. Therefore I started using Ubuntu.
Under Ubuntu (host) I have no issue. In the Guest Debian 12, after a while the whole VM freezes. It only occurs when I use Brave. otherwise, it can stay up for hours. When it is locked there is nothing to be done. I have to power off and then face the file corruption.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. I just have loads of windows open in both the host and the guest.
  2. After a while, when surfing the web, invariably at a point, the VM freezes.

Expected result:
Of course, there is no reason why it would freeze.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.78.94 Chromium: 136.0.7103.60 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Get help with Brave
Additional Information: Ubuntu is not (yet) officially supported for my machine, but when using the host without the VM, I never had any similar issue.
