Brave freezes for when sending *file* to printer

Description of the issue:
Brave freezes for several minutes when sending anything to the printer, that uses the browser to load the preview, such as emails and PDF files. If I click anywhere on the Brave window, or any other Brave browser windows open on any other monitor, that Brave window will fade out and say “(not responding)” on the top.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open a PDF or email with Brave browser and select “print”.
  2. When the step of producing a preview pups up, the Brave browser freezes.
  3. After waiting anywhere from 2 minutes to 15 minutes, the preview will load and the printing will proceed as normal.

Hello @OneSki

Thank you for reaching out and I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue?

You’ll find this in Settings --> Additional Settings --> System --> Hardware Acceleration

Additionally, try clearing cookies to see if this solves the issue:

  1. Click on the Menu icon in the top right, and go to Settings
  2. Go to Additional settingsPrivacy and SecurityClear browsing data
  • A quicker way to get to this page would be to enter brave://settings/clearBrowserData into your address bar
  • See Advanced for a breakdown of the data you can clear
  1. Deselect Browsing history and Cached files (if you only want to clear cookies)
  2. Click Clear data

Let us know if that works.
