Description of the issue:
At random times when im opening a new tab, Usually by doing CTRL + T, The entire browser just freezes and crashes i then have to force end Brave. Then Reopen Brave. After i get my already open Tabs back and i do CTRL + T, the browser usually crashes again.
How can this issue be reproduced?
Can be reproduced by Opening a new Tab, Either CTRL + T or by pressing the little + Sign after the last tab.
Expected result:
Would like this fixed, it’s very frustrating.
Brave Version( check About Brave):
Brave is up to date
Custom pc build:
9900k ( 20% in use)
32gb ram ( only 43% in use) with everything that is open.
3070
I have already fully reinstalled Brave on my desktop.
I have 3 monitors running with diverse applications.
Running Windows 11 pro.
I have a buddy who has the exact same issue.
The Crashes that happened today, Non of my tabs were playing a video. Also after the first crash when i reopend brave and restored my pages the second i opened a new tab it crashed.
Also the Issue that is being mentioned is a different issue.
Thank you for taking your time to respond and think
This sounds like performance or memory-related. There are no standard extensions installed with Brave. I would suggest disabling extensions to see if the experience improves.
How many tabs/windows do you have active? Are you using Memory Saver?
You can also try your graphics acceleration settings here: brave://settings/system
Brave Currently takes up 4.3gb with around 31 tabs open.
I doubt it would be a memory issue since i have 32gb of ram, when looking at task manager/Resource manager my ram usage percentage does not go above 60% usually hovering around 40-45%
( Currently also Running Discord,Telegram,Steam in the background)
I just checked and Graphics accelerator/Memory saver are both disabled. Should i test with both on?
