Brave freezes (CPU spike) after downloading a file

Description of the issue:

This keeps happening, not every download but about once a day:
When I download a file (PDF, etc…), the browser will become completely unresponsive, CPU usage spikes, and I have to force quit.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Download files to disk on mac?

Expected result:

Brave Version( check About Brave): 1.2.43
