Brave Financing

I am wondering if some sort of financing can be created for Brave development by letting its users invest in it. I am also wondering if spinning off certain parts as non-profits that offer open source code to increase user security and privacy might make the endeavor leaner and able to focus on it philosophical goals of a truly free and private and secure internet for users.
