Something I’ve noticed, but worked around, is that Brave crashes when used to access the Barnes and Noble Self Publishing site. https://press.barnesandnoble.com
The workaround is to use Mozilla Firefox.
However, it would be nice if Brave would work with Barnes and Noble as well.
Note:
The fun part is the errors don’t always come up, sometimes the website works and right when you think it’s been fixed, up come the error windows.
Yesterday I could not get their site to work with Brave, today I can’t seem to fault it, so I’m not sure what triggers the errors.
And I’m guessing this is where you edited in that part. If it’s working, then I guess will have to mark as resolved, at least for now.
If you have issues again in the future, it would also be helpful if you try some of the basic troubleshooting steps as well.
Most basic troubleshooting steps which helps to narrow down potential issues are:
Disable Shields - If this lets it work, then points out there is a setting or filter that is breaking content.
Open a private window and try - This opens a session with no cookies and with all extensions disabled. If the issue goes away here, it helps narrow down things to cookies or extensions.
Try in a new browser profile (desktop only) - This creates a second profile with majority of settings to default. It also loads with no extensions or anything. The only thing that carries over are any custom content filters and changes to brave://flags. Anyway, if it doesn’t work on the prior two but works here, then it suggests either something in your browser settings or one of your extensions.
Trying on Brave Beta and/or Brave Nightly - If it doesn’t work in the above but it works here, then it could be a version specific issue. But then is always good to go back and check things like the custom content filters or changes to brave://flags
Testing on Chrome - Honestly if an issue persists in all of the above, it’s generally not a Brave issue. This would say it’s either Chromium specific or something else on your device. But at least by checking on Chrome, it helps to narrow things down a bit.
Anyway, @MichaelBlucher, would be great if you could reply back and confirm whether you are saying it’s resolved for you at this time.
@MichaelBlucher can you consistently reproduce the error on your end when trying to create a new book? That is, does this occur in Brave every time you try to perform those steps?
@MichaelBlucher he was saying since you didn’t know how to add custom rules, he was going to add it to the filters, which your browser should have fetched in background updates. So then was asking you to try everything again to see if the issue went away. Just was telling you to give it 4-5 hours from the time he replied to you
