Brave:// does not work. It changes to

I just posted a new topic. The response was a popup that said something like “the post just submitted has to be reviewed before it can made visible to the public.”

Why would I get an insulting message like that? We are against freedom of speech around here? The post that was stolen and not posted is asking why my phone with Brave browser is not able to access brave://password-manager/settings. When I enter that url to brave browser, the url acts like an alien is inside it, and changes the Url I to some spastic url that does nothing except prevent my phone from working.

It’s not insulting—your post just triggered the spam filter. Sometimes the filter flags things randomly, even if they don’t seem problematic. I’ve had my own posts flagged before, and I’ve seen posts flagged just by moving them to a different category. It’s nothing to worry about.

Keep in mind that “freedom of speech” doesn’t apply on private websites. Platforms like this operate under their own Terms of Service and rules. The First Amendment protects speech from government restrictions, but even then, it has limits, and speech can have consequences.

It helps to specify if you’re using Android or iPhone when mentioning a phone issue. Based on your post history, I’m guessing you’re referring to a Samsung, so Android.

I checked on an old Android device, and it seems brave://settings and brave://password-manager don’t load on Android. Interestingly, brave://password-manager-internals does work.

It seems these shortcuts aren’t currently linked to the menu on Android. We might need to wait until after New Year’s to find out if this is intentional. According to notes, Mattches is back after January 6. And I’m not sure how often others like Evan123 or Steeven will be checking in.

Until then just have to go the classic way of settings-> password manager

I wrote a lengthy response then somehow deleted it. The most important part was acknowledging the excellence of your contributions here, that go above and beyond. I am going to not rant about anything regarding brave, especially on this forum If there was something bad happening, you would be on it and the only legitimate response is to ask how I can help.

I can verify I got brave://password-manager-internals to work, thank you for the suggestion. Also as you stated, tjhe others did not work on my phone. My phone is Galaxy 14 5g released January 2023.

I just turned on sync, that should take care of what i need. I was blocked out of sync on the phone I was runnng before this one, becasue it could not exchange passwords without form of bio authentication I did not have.

@carla_rogers as to last part, either means have added profiles multiple times, including doing reinstalling without removing from list.

Or, more likely, had duplicates created due to a bug that existed not long ago. They fixed it in updates, though can’t remember version off the top off my head. Not sure if all your devices are updated. If they are, then just have to delete the duplicates or delete the sync and create a new one.

@Mattches any idea if this is intended or a deviation/bug? Well, at least referring to the idea of brave://password-manager and brave://settings not working on Android but some of the others do?

AFAIK, Android always had the same navigation as Desktop. Not sure if I just missed these particular ones or when it might have changed.,

First, @carla_rogers, your post was likely flagged by our spam/bot detection system. This happens from time to time when the system thinks that a certain post may be a bot or spam for one reason or another. It happens to regular users all the time and is hard to avoid. That said, it has nothing to do with “free speech”. It is an absolutely necessary component to the Community, as for every legitimate user’s post (like yourself) that gets flagged, 15 actual bots/spam posts are flagged.

As for the “issue” it’s likely that this was changed at some point, though I’m not sure if it was an inherited change or an intentional one (my assumption would be inherited). Note that other pages that you can’t navigate to via the menu still work — for example, on Android if you go to brave://components, you’ll get the components page. Same for brave://flags, brave://crashes, etc.
