Brave does not work AT ALL on my brand-new Android 13 tablet

I just purchased a brand-new Android 13 tablet yesterday and installed Brave Browser. I bought the tablet specifically to watch YouTube videos using Brave Browser. Unfortunately, after spending a great deal of time trying to get Brave Browser to work and even performing a factory reset on the tablet Brave still does not work. After I click on the Brave icon and try to go to the YouTube site the address bar simply shows “m.youtube.com” but doesn’t do anything, only a blank white screen appears. The same thing happens when I input the URL of any other website.
I am able to access the Web using Google.
As I said, I SPECIFICALLY bought this tablet to watch YouTube videos and because Brave Browser doesn’t work on it it’s useless right now.

At first:

Welcome to the Brave community!  :tada:

To help you better out, it would be nice to have a little more information:

  1. Which brand and model of the table do you have?
  2. Did you try to install another browser to test if you have the same issues, as example Chrome?
  3. Are you connected via W-LAN or 4G/LTE/5G?

Notice:
Personal I would recommend to use the YouTube app itself which has better perfomance, a better user experience and interface anyway.

The manufacturer of the tablet is Antemper.
The model is D115.
I’m on 2.4GHz WIFI.
Since making the original post now I can’t get on any website via the Google app except by searching for YouTube and clicking to get on YouTube. I cannot get on any other site by searching in Google and then clicking on the site. I also cannot get on any sites via Chrome. Therefore, the ONLY site I can access is YouTube either via its app or by searching for YouTube in Google. I prefer the o access YouTube via Brave Browser because it blocks the annoying ads.

Partially off-topic (but still on-topic) to the Notice:
If people wanted to use the youtube app, I’m sure we wouldn’t be getting so many complaints/concerns about the recent issues. If you’re going to mention anything youtube related and similar to brave, it might as well be revanced or grayjay for mobile.

It’s sounds like you’re in a restricted network or something. :man_shrugging:

Can you try to connect to another network to test this behavior there?

Also, you could try to change your DNS resolver on the android tablet to Cloudflare or Quad9. Here is a general tutorial how to do this.

Note:
Cloudflare DNS: 1.1.1.1
Quad9 DNS: 9.9.9.9

About the ad-blocking:

It is true that brave mobile has an ad-blocking feature built in, despite that
it could be not strong enough to block every embedded ad in the videos.

I can’t tell from experience because I always used a modified version of the official YouTube app or used the free and open source app NewPipe.

Please read the documentation of both apps carefully, especially that one from revanced or view a few tutorials like this one here or here.

As @Hotdogs555 already mentioned, there is another app called GrayJay which also has some special features. I do have installed it, but rarely used, so you’re on your own with this.

For further questions or problems in relation to the different apps, please refer to the communities accordantly.

This is a good point, but I wanted to look at the problem first before giving some experimental alternatives to it.

If I gave those explanation and tips at first, it may complicate the situation only instead of solving it.
