#1

have installed brave from snap store in opensuse tumbleweed, I thought successfully. However, when I click on the lion icon, the cursor just spins around and nothing happens. Any help or places to check. Thank you.

@louparker follow the instruction here searching for OpenSuse.

It’s usually this:

To install Brave using zypper:

sudo rpmkeys --import https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/brave-rpm-release/keys.asc
sudo zypper install lsb
sudo zypper addrepo --type yast2 https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/brave-rpm-release/x86_64/ brave-rpm-release
sudo zypper ref
sudo zypper install brave

It will most likely prompt you with this, its recommended to select 2 to complete the download.

If zypper throws an error similar to

Problem: nothing provides GConf2 needed by brave-*
Solution 1: do not install brave-*
Solution 2: break brave-* by ignoring some of its dependencies

for precaution its also advised to download:

sudo zypper install
gconf2
gconf2-devel
libgnome-keyring-devel

Some users also run sudo zypper install libxss1 libatk-bridge-2_0-0 libgtk-3-0 - but it may come back with a reply of package not found.

To update Brave using zypper:

sudo zypper ref
sudo zypper update brave
