Hello, I have multiple problems implementing brave into my iphone enviroment. They are simple, but annoying problems.
Unable to save photos - when I long press an image and click “save image”, which normally puts that picture into my gallery, the photo is not added, nothing happens. I can only take a screenshot and cut out the required photo, which is very inconvenient.
Unable to be forwarded into installed app:
Opening a link that forwards you into an app you have on your iphone only opens Appstore page, but does not open the actual app, rendering all types of invite links, referals etc. completly unusable, all thanks to brave.
I am very surprised I have not been able to find open ticket for neither of these problems.
I long-pressed an image, and no "save image” option (and, no such option when using the share button in the following screenshot - in fact, the options available if using that share button, are very limited):
When I managed to get the menu with the “Save image” option, the first time I got that far, I was able to save the image to the iPhone’s Photos collection.
But subsequent attempts resulted in no action when clicking the “Save image” button.
Hey, that is answering a different problem not mentioned in this post. I do see the button to add to photos, but the button doesn’t actually do anything - mainly in google pictures or facebook. Sometimes it saves it to files, not gallery, which is also inconvinient.
@Prastako I’m not able to replicate. I just did Save To Photos and then opened by Photos app and it was there.
The only way I am able to have issues as you say you are is if I remove permissions. Which makes me wonder if you have your settings to block Brave. In your iPhone go to Settings → Apps → Brave and you’ll have a list of things for Allow Brave To Access. One of those is for Photos. You have an option for None or Add Photos Only
If I toggle to None then tapping Add To Photos does nothing. But when allowed to Add Photos Only it works with no issues.
Not having any issue on this either. But would be nice if you could give some specific examples perhaps. Also have to say you need to make sure to check your settings as well,
In Brave if you go to Settings → Brave Shields & Privacy you’ll see a toggle option for Allow universal links to open in external apps. If this isn’t turned on then it’s not going to switch over to other apps and instead is just going to try to open everything in Brave.
NOTE
Make sure you realize in the first one, the settings are your phone’s settings and not Brave’s.
