Brave Deleted BAT from Uphold Wallet Instead of Added with Monthly Contribution

Instead of auto-contributing, Brave pulled out the amount of BAT from my Uphold Wallet that was supposed to be credited. In Uphold it shows that I sent BAT to Brave, which I did not do. I set the monthly contribution to 1.00 BAT and on the date it removed 1.00 BAT instead of crediting it. Am I missing a reason why Brave pulls out contributions based on viewing ads and sites?
