Brave Crashes whenever i hit 6

#1

While signing up for any website the browser crashes when i type my password. I tried many webforms all times it crashed when i hit 6 the last most character of my password. Apparently this thing happens only to the password fields.
There are other few problems as well:
-The flash player sometimes don’t work
-Some buttons do nothing when clicked

One last thing the browser is great it does not eat all my memory, its light on the processor, sleek and easy UI.

p.s. I updated the browser the same day.

Hi @IndusDev

Could you provide some additional details per the guidelines such as your OS and Brave versions?

Thanks,
Lauren

@IndusDev could you give some example sites where you’ve seen the crash?

#5

You can check here for some steps to remedy some Flash issues:

#6

well,
braves community page
microsofts registration page
basically all sites with registration forms

#7

@IndusDev which password manager are you using?

#8

braves inbuilt password manager

#9

tried lastPass and still the same issue

#10

Thanks for the info! I’m currently trying to reproduce the issue.

When you say ‘crash’ do you mean the whole application closes or do you get a black screen with an unhappy monitor ?

#11

the whole screen closes

#12

should i post the log file content

#13

I’ve tried on OS X, Windows 10 x64, and Windows 7 ia-32 and cannot reproduce. I think there has to be another confounding factor.

Do you use a non-Qwerty keyboard?

Did you recently update? If so, did you have any stored passwords?

Sorry for all of the back and forth, I’d really love to get to the bottom of this!

#14

which log do you mean?

#15

the operation_log.txt in brave developers crashes folder

#16

i can not reply anymore as it says i have reached the maximum amount of reply a new user can do, so i have to wait for 23 hours

#17

@IndusDev in case you missed the other post

Also, could you try to cause the crash one more time? Our reporter had an issue overnight and it should catch new crashes.

Do you have the full stacktrace in visual studio? It should be in the bottom right window.
