Brave crashes when opening link from external application on multiple computers

This has been happening for a long time.

Description of the issue:
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Have brave open
  2. Open a link from an external application. Terminal, Teams, Thunderbird, etc.
  3. Wait for 15 seconds
  4. Brave crashes
  5. Brave restarts and asks to restore the previous session

Expected result:

Opens a new tab with webpage that I was tying to open.

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.76.74 Chromium: 134.0.6998.89

This has been happening for a few years now. I keep expecting this to be fixed.

None of the computers are synced. So profiles / bookmarks / etc aren’t shared through online services.

Workstation at work (Arch Linux
Desktop at home (Arch Linux)
Workshop computer (Manjaro Linux)
Personal laptop (Arch Linux)
