Brave crashes when click the top-right menu

Description of the issue:
On Brave v.1.52.117, when I click the three vertical dot menu, the whole browser crashes
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Open Brave
  2. Click the top-right three dot menu
  3. Crashes

Expected result:
Not to crash
Brave Version( check About Brave):
v1.52.117

@andrewj145 can you please go to brave://crashes and

  • if you have automatic crash reporting is enabled (Settings --> Privacy/Security --> Automatically send diagnostic reports), please respond back here with the crash report ID
  • If Automatically send diagnostic reports is not enabled, ensure you click Send on these crash reports listed on the page, then reply here with the crash report ID

Can you also confirm whether you have any flags enabled?

I’m having this problem since updating Brave on Win11.

I found the solution to my issue on Win 11 here;

Reset brave://flags to default and issue resolved.

FWIW, I was able to reproduce this on .119 on one system (haven’t tried others) when brave://flags/#chrome-refresh-2023 is enabled. So there may be several flags triggering this. If I get a chance to test further I’ll post an update.

Agreed, this crash is only when Chrome Refresh 2023 is enabled
