Brave crashes immediately on startup

Brave just crashes half a second after opening it. The only solution that makes it work is re-naming the application in the files, but then it won’t work when I use links and such from other programs.

I should not have to use a crippled version of brave to make it work. How is this issue solved without crippling Brave?

Hi

Check if Brave is still the default app browser as follows (for Windows 11):

  • Open Windows Settings
  • Click on Apps
  • Click on default Apps and choose Brave
  • Click on the extension you want to be opened by Brave htm, html, shtml, svg, webp, http, https, etc.
