I am aware of some similar productivity concerns pertaining to the delay in computer speed, delayed response to signal queues, up to 30 seconds, for a normally simple processing speed of milliseconds or seconds even, which appeared to happen yesterday, Saturday, May 26, 2024 ~05:00 p.m. pst to ~10:00 p.m. pst; in fact, this whole week has been sluggish, to say the least. I am using the most current operating system, iOS 17.5.1, and no other programs were running during this point in time last night, during the time in question.
In order to REPLICATE this matter, I ask if someone in Support, or similarly knowledgeable in terms of being capable of accessing my History, if not my diagnostics from my account. I just recently noticed odd-behaviour with my Account History, particularly over the last couple of days, in which my history tells a surmising difference in story than my actual usage. In particular, I have come across something odd (to me) within the History details, in which every click I make shows two instances of viewing two links for every one click. However, although they seemingly appear to the casual-observer, to be the exact same link; the Title remains unchanged, however the difference is that the second link shows what I believe to be some sort of fragment identifier, perhaps a url hash whose purpose is to show that the website in question is showing twice the amount of traffic, through ostensible manipulation, or a means by which to collect on a per-click Ad Revenue, however the purpose does not contain any of the normal characteristics of a typical Hash Fragment.
Further, the first link (that which does not contain the aforementioned additional properties) seems to be the “true” link for which I had intentionally opened, while the second link, nearly identical to the first, albeit with the characters “#back_url”, sometimes changed by adding numbers, although I can’t be certain where, although it looked something like this,“#back_url1”, etc. As the verbiage mentions, this is at on the back end of the url address. However, besides that, it does not change the page title whatsoever, only the url, so it appears to be a simple error, or an obfuscation of sorts to the average user. If this is meaningful to anyone, I am absolutely willing to do whatever means of a deeper dive into this concern. I question, first, why this happens with such frequency? Why are there exceptions to this “rule”? Could these be a type of fingerprinting, since clicking on the second would ostensibly differentiate it from the first link? These are noted in screenshots I have ready to attach to this contribution upon approval.
A caveat to mention, some of my History seems to have been removed, as I have had similar problems as other Community members, with the closing of my Tabs, sometimes when I indeed close down Brave, others when Brave’s CPU demands have been challenged, thereby closing the existing tabs, and not being able to reopen (even though Brave asks the question as to whether or not I would like to reopen tabs which were inadvertently shut-down). Either way, I forward-on, reply with “Yes”, and while it may seem as though Brave has does nothing, it seems more likely than not that there is nothing simple about this matter. I am thus brought again and again to the Private Tab, as being my “new” main page, as opposed to showing as “non-private”, or better known as Public, although the opened tabs seemingly vanish each time this process occurs, and they do not reappear. I have followed all of the advice thoroughly explained to no avail. However, be that as it may, this is simply a side-note, and not considered a separate issue, for all intents and purposes, as I understand this would be best placed under separate cover, with additional specifics I can provide. My intention for having mentioned this matter was in case there is a connection to both concerns, in case these two issues are somehow connected.
I absolutely get that the better the Input, as well as concise Data with which to work, the more likely a scenario can be replicated & thus potentially resolved. This is not an attempt to combine two Community contributions, or Support Tickets, into one, since this would negate my previous statement, and cause others unnecessary work.
As I am new to the Brave Community, I have attempted to upload several screenshots, however it is likely that I do not yet carry the proper credentials to be able to upload photos, screenshots, or documents. This is quite understandable, however if what I have described is something foreign to anybody/everybody reading this, I would like to offer any help I can extend, so if necessary, please let me know to whom, or how, I can forward this information. Regards, Mark
