Brave Color Scheme is weird

Description of the issue:
I have installed Ubuntu 24.04.2 and installed brave-browser as the second action. The colors in Ubuntu and FireFox are fine, but when I opened Brave it turn out to be that red is actually blue. Everything from the browser UI itself as well as the websites have different colors which is really weird… it seems that it is some kind of accessibility feature for color blind which I have not activated. I’ve also tried to reset the browser settings as well as the brave://flags, but nothing happend. I tried to deactivate the hardware acceleration w/o any improvement…

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Installation of Ubuntu 24.04.2
  2. Installation of Brave using the one liner
  3. Open Brave

Expected result:
Brave having normal colors as system settings.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Release v1.75.178 (Feb 13, 2025)

Additional Information:

If you launch Brave and go to Settings --> Appearance what do you see here?

These are the settings.

@derben based on what you are showing in your screenshot, you have installed some theme. That means the colors you’re using isn’t what Brave is providing but is based on the theme(s) you added.

Nope, fresh installed Ubuntu 24.04 so how should I have installed the theme?

@derben might be something you had from chromium, like another browser. But if don’t have a theme, it should show up like you see on what @Mattches showed in his screenshot and like you see on mine. It doesn’t list any theme, instead just saying to get one. At least is generally how I’ve known it to be. I don’t know if perhaps Linux works a bit differently.

Or a bit zoomed out:

Out of curiosity, where did you grab it from and which method did you use? Like Snap, Flatpak, etc.

Ok weird - I again reinstalled. Could be that the theme came with “amdgpu” drivers, because what I made different now is that I did not install those drivers.
