Brave Browser Won’t Launch Properly on Windows 10 – Process Stuck in Task Manager


Description of the issue:
After launching Brave, the browser does not open. I see a brief blue loading circle, but then nothing appears. However, Task Manager shows Brave running in the background, and I am unable to end the task — even using taskkill via Command Prompt. The issue persists consistently.

How can this issue be reproduced?

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Boot up Windows 10 desktop.

  2. Click to launch Brave.

  3. Brave does not open, but process appears in Task Manager.

  4. Unable to kill the process or relaunch.

  5. Only works temporarily after fresh install.

What I’ve Tried So Far:

Fully uninstalled Brave, including registry entries.

Reinstalled a clean version — works only for a short time after reinstall.

Safe Mode test — issue remains.

Disabled antivirus completely — no effect.

Tried using cmd and PowerShell to kill the task — fails.

Expected result:
Brave should launch normally and open the browser window.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Cannot access browser UI due to issue. Installed latest version from Brave official site.

Operating System:
Windows 10 (latest updates installed)

Additional Information:
This issue started recently. Brave used to work perfectly on this same system. I’ve tested everything within my ability, and would appreciate advanced troubleshooting help or insight from the Brave team.
