I have a couple of questions pertaining to the Brave Browser. I have a slightly older computer so I know that is part of the issue but I am having significant issues with lagging and load times. I am a full time university student so I tend to have a number of tabs open for research and school (which I know doesn’t help) I get really significant spikes where it takes up almost all of my RAM and CPU power. It takes time to even switch between the tabs and load the website. I have created a new profile after the last one I believe was corrupted; it isnt my computer (to the best of my knowledge) because I can still switch between applications and the mouse will move fine. Any thoughts on how to address the issue? I have cleared the cache and history before; tried to reduce how many tabs I have open and the type of tabs (it appears youtube takes a lot of memory). I do enjoy Brave but its become hard to use.
Secondly, is there a way to allow things like google maps and images. I am trying to find a place to live on a housing website and I have to switch to another browser to look because it wont load the map and profiles photos.
Using Google / YouTube domains as an example, for allowing sources that issue cookies and javascripts:
You’ll figure out, how to do that for other websites.
In general, I run Brave Browser (MacOS) in “Private Browsing Only” mode. Shields UP; aggressive/strong settings for Trackers & Ads, and for Fingerprinting; but I allow cookies (but block 3rd party cookies).
So, I had to become familiar with especially the javascript setting(s) mentioned above.
And I have Brave Browser set up to dump all cookies, clear cache, web history, etc, every time I Quit (“Exit”) Brave Browser . . . for privacy and security reasons.
