Brave Browser miss authorize to bank site

Description of the issue:
Fev days after authorize mBank site for browser, Brawe Browser not remeber & bank need again authorize my Brawe Browser.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Authorize Bank to browser
  2. Normal using a fev days
  3. Need again authorize Brave Browser for bank site

Expected result:
Remeber authorization for all time using Brave Browser.

Brave Version( check About Brave):
1.43.89

Additional Information:
I am using Google Chrome for YouTube Channel & have installed Firefox and Tor Browser.

When you say ‘authorize,’ what is different vs. what you expect?

Are you expecting it to not require a password the 2nd time, or do you just mean the 2nd factor (SMS text, auth code, etc.)?

Can you show us a screenshot?

Do you have anything checked under any of the tabs in brave://settings/clearBrowserData?

Are you using any 3rd party security software (not counting MS Defender)?

im using normal password and need again authorize with 2nd time with app bank biometrical or pin verification on Android.

On tabs clear browser is fine not checked all:

Im not using any antivirus, deffender is shut down.

OK. What about any 3rd party “privacy” or “cleaning” software (CCleaner, for example)?

And the issue does not occur with your other browsers?

Does the problem occur if you create a new profile and try it in that profile? (Make sure your original profile does not have any open windows; only the new profile should be open.)

In other words:

  • use the new profile to fully log into the bank site
  • do not log into the site again with any other browsers or profiles
  • next time you log into the site use the same new profile

I dont use any cleaners, only iObit Uninstaller & iObit Smart Defrag.
On Google Chrome bank work normal and at the time i using bank in Chrome.
I do not want create new profile, other functions works ok.

A fev months ago i have issue when my brave shield on this profile, on all sites is shut down. I must switch on this manualy.

Sorry for delay with response…

OK. Just so you know, creating a new profile does not remove your original profile; you can keep them both, and you can always delete one of them later if you no longer need it.

Testing in a new profile is extremely valuable in isolating issues, so I hope you’ll reconsider.

@Xantor I have the very same behavior in the mBank and Santander bank website. It looks like after given time of period browser changes the own presentation (identifier, fingerprint or something similar) which makes that bank website is recognizing it as the access from the brand new browser.

This behavior is due to PSD2 authentication: " Strong customer authentication (SCA) is a requirement of the EU Revised Directive on Payment Services (PSD2) on payment service providers within the European Economic Area. The requirement ensures that electronic payments are performed with multi-factor authentication, to increase the security of electronic payments."

This is a known issue that’s been reported. It does it for me on Creators page, iCloud, and other websites where I have put settings to keep me logged in. It’s something they are going to be looking into. I think it might be type of security along with Shield settings in terms of trackers. But I’m not even going to start pretending like I know much. Only can tell you I’ve reported it and there’s a Github from others sharing over at https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/24515 as well
