i. I downloaded and installed Brave.
ii. I created a bookmark and clicked the 'Done' button one time.
iii. The browser became unresponsive.
iii. My bookmark was not created.

Of Note: I had around 15 tabs open at the time.

Thanks and I love the product!!!

Hi @CJCanada

Could you provide some additional information such as what Brave Version and what OS do you have?

Also, could you provide some additional details on step 2 by describing how you created the bookmark? i.e. did you click the star icon next to the URL bar? Or did you add a bookmark another way?

Thanks,
Lauren

I use Windows 7

Brave: 0.17.13
rev: f7242c7ae683191b59388f567ccbd13d938b23d4
Muon: 4.1.7
libchromiumcontent: 59.0.3071.109
V8: 5.9.211.38
Node.js: 7.9.0
Update Channel: dev
os.platform: win32
os.release: 6.1.7601
os.arch: x64

Both the star icon and the adding via right clicking on a book mark folder
that I have cause the freeze to occur.

Thanks @CJCanada I’ll work on reproducing this.

If this is consistently happening for you, could you please close Brave, reopen Brave and open the Developer Tools (Fn + Shift + F8) and click on Console. Then repeat your steps. If anything displays under ‘Console’ in the Developer Tools could you paste it here so I can share with development? Thank you!

Ok, I’ve tried that. Got nothing.
For what it’s worth, I am still able to scroll on the page but I am unable
to switch tabs or click anything.

I’ve had the same issue here; it has happened multiple times now, but it just happened now. It is also very slow when I try to add the bookmark folder.

Brave 0.18.14
Windows 10 x64 v.1703 Pro.

I had 9 tabs open.

I tried again, and it was again very slow, and the folder was not added.

There were no new errors in the console after trying this twice.

Here is the console before the attempts after closing and reopening (with verbose filtered, I didn’t see without verbose filtered):

app.entry.js:34639 (node) warning: possible EventEmitter memory leak detected. 11 listeners added. Use emitter.setMaxListeners() to increase limit.

11.026 s was after pressing the done button.

Thanks for this @JamesRay. I’m aware you have a decent amount of bookmarks (I had asked in a different post for an estimate of how many). But I didn’t ask that question of @CJCanada - do you have a lot of bookmarks? I haven’t been able to reproduce and I wonder if maybe that’s part of the puzzle.

Thanks,
Lauren

I do have a decent amount of bookmarks. I imported my bookmarks from Firefox

Hi @LaurenWags and @CJCanada, yes I also have another folder with a lot of bookmarks that are imported from Edge (which in turn has a folder of imported bookmarks from Chrome). I also replied to your other question in the other post, @LaurenWags.

Hi
I just installed Brave. I found out that the bookmark system is really really buggy:
1: the add bookmark button takes a lot of time to load
2.imported multiple time the same bookmark folder ( i had 4 imported file of the same browser)
3. page freeze and turn white when move bookmark in the bm manager.
4.Browser doesn’t look like he knows where my mouse is when moving bookmark files.
I was wondering if the team was working on marking bookmark management work normally soon.
bookmark management is a must and browser can be useful without that.

In any case, I’ve bought some BAT and I’m working on a new E-commerce project. I’ve read pretty much the whole site of brave, BAT and will probably stick around cause the project is amazing, but until bookmark are repaired (cause yes this is a broken system) I’ll stick to Firefox.

Another thing, I can’t import my password for Firefox and I have around 150 passes saved all 20-30digit and different :S XD
I was asking my self if you have a way to download all my password in Brave or import them from Firefox. Better Brave should have a sync with Firefox account option, would make things perfect and super simple.

thanks, for the rest, i luv every thing from it :ok_hand:
