Brave Browser Blocking file dialogs on Mac

When uploading documents using the Mac file dialog on Brave, I have been unable to click anywhere within the dialog, even the “Cancel” button.
The only thing that stops this, albeit temporarily, is restarting the app.

I am working with a Vue.js/Vuex app (version 2) with a Ruby on Rails backend.
I’m not certain the cause of this issue since it seems to happen at random, but it most recently occurred after a failed Post request to the rails server.

EDIT I was wrong, it seems to happen after a Delete request to the server, not a failed post.
