Description of the issue:
Whenever I try to fill information on any signup page, the browser crashes (both PC and mobile).
Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
I open a login page and the popup for autofill shows up. I click on my details and instead of it to populate the respective fields, the browser crashes instantly.

Interesting, I am also using Brave Beta v 1.64.74 but I am not facing any issues with autofill. Just checked it on multiple websites. The only difference is I am using Windows 11 23H2 which probably shouldn’t make any difference.
What’s interesting is where they reported the issue and I replicated was in selecting email. As soon as you clicked on email to have autofilled is when it crashed.
Weird, so who knows. Originally was others reporting and then I downloaded Brave Beta fresh and synced it with other profiles. Beta still crashes for me on those sites when I select my email from the list of autofill options. Doesn’t matter which email I choose. I’d share a video but prefer not to have people see my email addresses, lol.
In any case, I know I tagged Support on it and they’ll be able to look into it and try to replicate. Hopefully whatever the issue is, they’ll have remedied before it arrives to Release.
Can’t imagine what exactly is causing this problem, but if someone does find out the reason, please do let me know! It’s always helpful to know these things in advanced so such issues don’t happen again.
I have been using Brave Beta for a long time and have not experienced any autofill problem. I suspect that this problem surfaced after the most recent mandatory windows 10 update. The message “Brave didn’t shut down properly” Restore ? keeps coming up in a vicious circle, each time you reply by pressing yes.
the bug is really annoying. it looks like by using the autofill form it causes such a huge Memory consumption that the browser needs to reset itself (crash) by clearing the memory cache.
@ates not sure why you are posting that nobody knows anything. I’d also like to challenge you and @bigblaqboy to check what versions you’re using now. Because as you see below:
This is honestly driving me crazy. It literally crashed while I was trying to make my community account. When is this getting patched? I have bee dealing with this for close to 2 weeks at this point. Same exact issue.
I think that’s the issue. I hadn’t been using Beta and trusted what @rebron2000 said on the Github, which was that it was fixed and current version of Beta was 1.64.82. But I just checked and mine is showing as as yours, that the current is actually 1.64.74.
If he is right and the fix is after 1.64.75 then we’ll be waiting for the next release. Not quite sure when that would hit. I think Beta usually has its updates on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. If so, I’d think we’ll be seeing update with the fix in the next couple days.
Not sure if Rebron might pop in to answer or if @Mattches might help clarify on that.
