Brave Beta branch relative to Stable

#1

Description of the issue:
This is a question regarding the relationship between development of Brave Beta and the stable, GA version. More specifically, I don’t understand how the two are related in terms of functionality. I would have thought that the Beta version would be a superset of the Stable version as new features are added onto the “production” release. Also, why aren’t the two more closely aligned in terms of look and feel?

Hi @cbrevard,

Brave 0.25.x is an old version that has been replaced by the new Brave 0.59.x. https://brave.com/brave-upgrades/

You should be asked to upgrade from 0.25.x to 0.59.x. If you not get the notification upgrade, you can download the new version from brave.com/download

You don’t need to uninstall the old version. You can run it in parallel then import your browser data from prev. Brave to avoid data lost. https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018538092-How-do-I-update-Brave-to-the-newest-version-

More about importing data https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360019782291-How-do-I-import-or-export-browsing-data-

You also can migrate your wallet (if you have any) https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360020849831-How-do-I-successfully-migrate-from-Brave-Payments-to-Brave-Rewards-

Thanks

That explains a lot. Thanks for the FYI. The production version just prompted me to download an update.
