Brave Almost Completely Reset Overnight?

When launching Brave this afternoon, the browser has mostly reset itself. I used it last night and it worked perfectly fine. There’s a few things that I noticed didn’t reset:

  • Cache
  • History
  • Shields settings (I think, assuming the defaults still use more lenient settings)
  • Extensions and their settings
  • Bookmarks

But pretty much everything else has reset, including:

  • Saved passwords (oddly, usernames/emails are still there?)
  • Pretty much all browser settings
  • I was signed out of Brave Sync
  • BAT settings
  • Brave Stats on New Tab page

Unsure exactly how this happened or how to reproduce the issue, but this is the first time I’ve seen it at all.

Brave Version: 1.41.96 Chromium: 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit)
OS Version: Windows 10 Pro 19044.1826

Thanks for writing in. Did this happen after updating to the latest version?

I don’t believe that there was an update, unless it was done automatically. Do you know what date/time the last update was released? That may help me confirm
