Bookmarks became uneditable after ghost bookmark appeared

bug

#1

A few days ago I started using Brave, imported bookmarks from FireFox and rearranged them in the bookmarks toolbar. Everything worked fine until today I saw a duplicate sub-folder in one of the top-level folders. When I deleted that one, both the duplicate and the original folder disappeared and a greyed out icon appeared in the bookmarks toolbar:

45

As long as I don’t click on it, everything is fine. But when I do, the bookmarks system seems to freeze up. None of the folders will open and I can’t even goto the bookmark manager to rearrange them. I need to force quit Brave and relaunch. But even when I am able to open the bookmark manager, nothing is inside.

Right-click deleting the icon also freezes it up. I’m not sure what to do now other than completely remove and reinstall Brave. My setup:

Brave: 0.21.18
V8: 6.4.388.41
