Blocking AutoPlay on YouTube causes volume adjust to pause playback

I have AutoPlay disabled in Brave for YouTube. It didn’t use to work until the last Brave update, and YouTube videos used to just start automatically regardless of that setting. Since the last Brave update, blocking AutoPlay actually works, which is a great improvement. But I’ve noticed that whenever I adjust the volume of a video in the YouTube player, playback gets paused. This happens both on Ubuntu 20.10 and on Windows 10. It happens when I use the scroll wheel on my mouse while hovering over the speaker icon in the YouTube player, as well as when I click on the volume slider in the YouTube player. When I allow AutoPlay, the issue disappears: playback doesn’t stop when I adjust volume.

Additional information: I have an extension called “Adblock for YouTube” installed. Disabling the extension does not solve the issue.
