Binance.com and Binance.us URL autocomplete to a referral address

  1. Open Brave browser.
  2. Type in binance.com or binance.us
  3. See how the browser autofills a referral link like https://www.binance.com/en?ref=39346846 and https://www.binance.us/en?ref=35089877

The Brave advertising ecosystem works via the BAT token. When you step outside of this established structure, you risk losing reputation.

What is the Brave team doing with the referral income? How can we be assured that, as Brave users, we’re receiving the appropriate reimbursement for seeing these ads and unofficial referral link autocompletes?

Version 1.9.76 Chromium: 81.0.4044.138 (Official Build) (64-bit)

This is being discussed on social media, and the general consensus is that Brave has crossed a line with manipulation of URL autofill for their personal/company rewards account.

Since this is an atypical reward mechanism compared to BAT, how can you assure your users that the funds from this referral address aren’t being misappropriated?

I would love an answer that reassures Brave users to screenshot and return to the trolls on Twitter.
