Being warned to update Chrome (using the latest Brave) with link to trojan

Description of the issue: Being warned that Chrome needs an update (on Brave) complete with a link to an infected DMG file.
I have been getting an Update Required message for over a week in Brave. I’ve totally uninstalled (Mac OS Sonoma 14.4) using two different uninstaller apps and reinstalled and the message persists. The Update button links to a trojan-infected DMG. I have scanned my Mac with BitDefender and Windows Defender and CleanMyMac and none find any trjoans, etc…unless I download the infected DMG.
How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Unistall Brave completely using an uninstaller
    2.Reinstall Brave
    3.Pop up appears

Expected result: NO bogus error message

Brave Version( check About Brave):

Version 1.64.113 Chromium: 123.0.6312.86 (Official Build) (arm64)

Additional Information:
This issue does not occur with Brave Nightly, but nightly crashes a lot.

That is not coming from Brave – it could be generated by a web site or a malicious extension. I cant really tell anything from the cropped screen shot.
