Banned for using VPN to listen to a radio

As the title says, my ability to collect BAT was disabled (some kind of ban I presume) because I used a VPN to listen to an internet radio, of all things. This happened quite some time ago but I didn’t realize there was a forum where I could possibly get help for this issue.

If possible I’d like this reversed, obviously I wasn’t doing anything nefarious. I still get ads if I turn them on but I get no BAT out of it.

Please rank the following:

a) ability to collect BAT was disabled
b) Brave Rewards disabled that ability
c) you were banned by Brave Rewards
d) you suspect that using a VPN was the cause of the ban
e) you suspect that listening to an internet radio was the cause of the ban
f) your VPN service is somehow blocking your ability to collect BAT

Given that, you “still get ads if [you] turn them ON, but [you] get no BAT out of it.”

Would you still get ads (with them turned ON) . . . if Brave Rewards banned/blocked you?

So the reason why I figured out it was the VPN is because it was the only thing that changed with my internet/my habits and when I figured out the rough timeline of when my ads stopped working it lined up with the only thing I did: use that VPN.

Umm, you posted here a year ago. So it’s strange you’re saying you didn’t realize this forum existed.

This is an assumption on your end. VPN in itself is not against the rules but if they see a consistent issue where it’s combined with other factors and it can get you flagged.

For you to even consider VPN as a problem means you have read about this and know using a VPN to appear in other countries can cause problems. But it sounds like you did it anyway. Either that or just are jumping to assumptions and your issue is something else.

You should create a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 so someone from Brave can look into things.

And looking at last year’s, it seems you had sent a ticket in. If they told you that your account wouldn’t be reinstated and you haven’t been receiving payments, then I doubt that is going to change. When they say it won’t be reinstated, they generally mean you’re permanently banned and can never earn again.,

Same thing happened to me long ago. My ticket was denied too, I even offered to turn off my VPN whiie using Brave, but got no response.

I wonder if now tat they supposedly dont need to go through Uphold and Gemini any more, if there will be chance for repatriation for any of us.

They are scamming people left and right. That is why bat price dropped so low
