Both on MacOS & Windows, when I visit my bank’s website, it says:
“…our products are only available in the US. Depending on your current location, you may be able to access your accounts here if you’re a current customer. To inquire about opening new accounts or speak to an agent, call our Contact Center.”
I used to never get this message until recently, not sure if it’s from a recent update? When I use Safari for example, I do not get this message…
I tried looking into clearing my cache, allowing the website to access my location, toggling Brave Shields on and off, Toggling AD Blocker on and off, etc etc… This should not be an issue unless the bank’s website doesn’t like a certain thing Brave is enabling?
I’m having the same issue Brave Version 1.70.119 Chromium 129.0.6668.70 running on Windows 11 23H2. When trying to log into my bank I get the following message:
“Our products are only available in the US. Depending on your current location, you may be able to access your accounts here if you’re a current customer. To inquire about opening new accounts or speak to an agent, call our Contact Center.”
I have never had this problem with Brave. I did a complete reinstall of Windows 11 and Brave but this did not fix the issue. I am not running a VPN and I have Brave setup to clear everything on exit.
I just spoke with Marcus support and they stated that an update from the Brave browser apparently caused this issue. Their concluding statement is that Marcus.com no longer supports the Brave browser, even though we’re able to visit the site. The issue happens when we all try to log in…
I don’t understand why this issue is not being addressed by Brave. This is the type of problems that will cause people to stop using this browser and go back to Firefox.
I’m sorry but this can not be correct. I’m in the US and I do not use a VPN of any sort. However, my bank is seeing me as being outside the US therefore, the only logical explanation is brave is the problem. This is not an issue with any other browser I’ve used such as, Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Google Chrome and was never an issue for me in the past with Brave. It’s a shame because browsers are used to access websites and once that access is gone, so is the browser.
Using this GPS showed my address being three houses away from my actual location and at the bottom of the stated address says “United States of America”.
The gps-coordinates.net link worked for me on Brave. It popped up a request to enable location services, which I did, and then it reported a location a few houses away and definitely in the United States. However I am also getting the geofence error from Marcus after attempting to log in.
