Description of the issue:
New tabs load very slowly on my MacBook Air 2014 (i5 4th Gen). When I open a new tab, type something in the search bar and hit enter before the new tab fully loads, the query in the search bar disappears.
This doesn’t happen on my M1 Pro because the new tab loads instantly.
This makes it hard to recommend Brave on older Macs.
I do appreciate that Youtube performance (going fast forward in videos) for older macs has been improved in the last few months.
How can this issue be reproduced?
cmd+T
type in the search bar
hit enter
Expected result:
Brave should give me the results of the search.
Hi there @Hannover69 thanks for reporting. Can you try disabling Hardware Acceleration in settings to see if this resolves the issue? Follow the instructions below:
Open the Terminal and enter this command: open -a "Brave browser.app" --args --disable-gpu
But I have to add that this doesn’t occur every time. It only happens when you haven’t opened a new tab for a while & then you cmd+T multiple times, only the 1st new tab takes way longer to load.
