Hi where do I change/find settings to be able to allow background music playing?
@Empireurn I’m not sure if you’re aware but Brave is available on various operating systems. Options available vary depending on whether we’re speaking of Android, iOS, Linux, Mac, Windows, etc. With you sharing absolutely no information, it’s hard to provide you with any assistance.
hi, i am on a desktop pc (windows 10) and iphone and cannot find, on either, how to access Brave settings to ‘enable media playback in background’. The settings do not seem to have the options that are listed in the help section :-/
Background audio should be enabled by default and there’s no way to disable that I’m aware of. We just would have to mute or pause tabs manually.
If you’re noticing sites not playing audio when you switch tabs or windows, you may need to make sure you disable settings like Memory Saver
and make sure you’re not using any extensions to suspend tabs. Memory saver is Settings
→ System
.
Settings
→ Media
Also keep in mind that some websites inject code to know if you’re actively on their website. If you aren’t, then it can pause things to make sure it doesn’t keep going. If you’re encountering locations where background play isn’t working, you might want to test to see if it’s just happening with that particular site or if it’s happening on all.
We support background music for many services out of the box on desktop, is there a specific music service not doing it? @Empireurn
Just a snapshot of services we can do background play:
music.apple.com
music.youtube.com
music.amazon.com
spotify.com
netflix.com
tidal.com
soundcloud.com
pandora.com
deezer.com
iheart.com
radio.garden
thankyou Saoiray - that worked - really appreciated ! all the best, Mark
