Avast Anti-Virus Flags Brave Helper as Trojan

Description of the issue:
Avast anti-virus lists Brave Browser Helper as Malware

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.

  1. Have Brave anti-virus installed on Mac.
  2. Navigate to a site (especially local router site 192.168.0.1)
  3. Avast pop-up appears: "We’ve blocked the threat Other:Malware-Gen[Trj] on http://magictraps.com/221a97d3b6d220cd5d.js. Process: /Applications/Brave Browser.app/Conents/Frameworks/Brave Browser Framework.framework/Versions/79.1.1.20/Helpers/Brave Browser Helper.app/Contents/MacOS Brave Browser Helper

Thanks for reaching out to us with this. We have had this issue before but it had since been resolved. Does adding an exception to the browser in Avast! not resolve the issue?

There maybe a rogue extension or possibly visited a site that stored the file in the browsers cache.

Clearing the browser cache, then restarting Brave should help. (re-scan with your anti-virus to be sure)
