Description of the issue:
In “brave://settings/content/autoplay” I have it set to “Block sites from autoplaying videos.” This works correctly for preventing autoplay (on youtube for example,) but I have added pandora-com to the “allow” list, and it is still blocked from autoplaying. When I switch the global setting to “Allow” then Pandora.com functions correctly.
The “allow” list is not respected and I have to enable global autoplay to listen to music on Pandora-com (without starting every song manually.)
I’ve also tested adding Youtube-com to the allow list and see the same issue: videos do not autoplay unless I enable the global setting.
Note: Obviously, I’m adding “youtube.com” into the allow list, but I had to switch the period for a dash because I can’t post multiple links as a new user.
How can this issue be reproduced?
- Disable Autoplay for all sites.
- Add a site to the “allow” list. (I used pandora-com and youtube-com)
- Open that site; notice that the videos do not play.
- Enable Global auto play, reload site: videos will now play.
Expected result:
Youtube-com or Pandora-com should autoplay videos when the sites are added to the “allow” list.
Brave Version( check About Brave
):
Version 1.76.73 Chromium: 134.0.6998.45 (Official Build) (arm64)
Additional Information:
I’ve tried clearing my cookies, updating Brave again, “lowering shields” for the site, and checking brave://components for any updates (none found.) I checked “Site and Shield Settings” and have neither site listed.
Any other suggestions for possible fixes? Is this a bug affecting everyone? I’m on Mac/ARM chip if it matters.
