Automatic cache clearance

Brave holds 651MB cached data that I don’t want to include in backups, but doesn’t provide any way to limit or delete this junk

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3.
Just use brave.

Actual Result (gifs and screenshots are welcome!):

$ du --max-depth=2 -h .cache/BraveSoftware/
651M .cache/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser/Default
651M .cache/BraveSoftware/Brave-Browser
651M .cache/BraveSoftware/

Expected result:

A Settings control that can either restrict the age of cache entries or empty the cache when Brave is shut down

Emptying the cache on exit from Brave would be preferable, and probably faster, than only retaining cached items less than ‘n’ days old

Reproduces how often:

Never happens and can’t be configured on.

Operating System and Brave Version(See the About Brave page in the main menu):

Version 1.7.92 Chromium: 80.0.3987.163 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Additional Information:

Both Firefox and PaleMoon have an option in Preferences for emptying cache content on exit, so why not provide it in Brave?

Linux version 5.5.16-200.fc31.x86_64 (mockbuild@bkernel03.phx2.fedoraproject.org) (gcc version 9.3.1 20200317 (Red Hat 9.3.1-1) (GCC)) #1 SMP Wed Apr 8 16:43:33 UTC 2020

Hi @kglide,

If you go to brave://settings/clearBrowserData , there you should see an on exit tab.
