Auto donation without my permission. Please reimburse

Briefly describe your issue:

I accidently donated 1 BAT to “Brave Grants.” I did not consciously choose to do this. The auto-donate button was turned on. I don’t remember turning it on.

Can you go to brave://rewards/ and check if you have Auto-Contribute enabled? Please note that it’s ON by default and must be manually turned OFF.

Thanks for getting back to me @steeven . I just checked. It’s off. I turned it off a few hours ago. The odd thing is that I can’t see who I auto-contributed the 1 BAT to.

Could you guys reimburse me? It’s cool if you can’t. I figured it would be worth asking.

Just so you know, @bgdv378, this is always blank. It’s just remaining from back when vBAT was a thing. You’ll not see anything on the statement.

Big thing to look at is Brave Rewards for all your connected devices. When you see just 1 BAT go away, it’s usually from Auto Contribute:

It’s always on by default when you install the browser and start using Rewards. So it’s something people have to look for and toggle off.


In regards to seeing if they could refund or anything, you’ll still need to do a Rewards Support Ticket at https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001302431 as they’ll need extra information. Sometimes they’ll do it (even if you had it on by accident), others they won’t. It’s all on a case by case basis.
