**Description of the issue:**Hi there, first of all, I do hope I am posting this in the appropriate section. This particular site (a streaming platform officially run by a portuguese TV network, which uses it to allow it’s catalogue to be streamed both by paying and non-paying users) has seemingly never worked properly on the Brave browser. When we try to play any type of content within the website, it attempts to load it but shortly after we get an “unexpected error” message and are left with a black screen, where the content would otherwise play. I was wondering whether this could be fixed or circumvented, allowing the platform’s content to be viewed/streamed without issues through the Browser, while having the protections of the Brave Browser activated.
**Website link: Opto.sic.pt
**Did the issue present with default Shields settings? ** Yes.
**Does the site function as expected when Shields are turned *off? No.
Is there a specific Shields configuration that causes the site to break? If so, tell us that configuration. No.
Does the site work as expected when using Chrome? Yes.
Brave version: 1.80.115
It looks like I need an account to view content on the site. However, I was able to watch a trailer for one of the shows on the site without issue.
I would also recommend going ahead and updating the browser to the latest build (v1.80.122) to check and see if this by chance fixes the issue.
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and for checking the website. I just checked once again and you can, indeed, watch the live broadcast of the channel through the browser without any issues. The “an unexpected error has occured” message box, which causes the content to stop trying to load and leads to the screen turning black only seems to appear/occur when trying to view the majority of the content that is present within the catalogue of the website, even the one that is freely available for non-paying accounts to stream. If you’d like some guidance to try and see the issue occur first hand or if I can provide you with any more information or details that could possibly help explain what could be causing the website to prevent the content from the site’s archive to be viewed through the Brave browser - with and without the browser’s protections being activated -, while allowing the channel’s live broadcast to be viewed freely through the browser, please let me know. Relating to the browser version: I will be updating it, however, judging by the fact this error has occured for years, I think it probably has no correlation to that at all. Thanks for your time, once again.
If you could share a short screen recording of the behavior you’re seeing on your end that could help. I’ll dig around a bit more and see if I can find out what’s happening in the meantime.
As I described, this is the error box that pops up whenever attempting to access/view content belonging to the vast majority of the website’s catalogue, even content that is available to non-paying accounts, such as mine - leading the screen to simply go black. The content can, however, be viewed on Chrome without any issues.
