I find the Ask Leo AI very useful, but I am concerned with the environmental impacts of the AI due to the energy demands in the midst of the climate crisis.
I think is is a useful enough tool to have, as it can save time to environmental and climate activist while doing online research.
Therefore I would suggest that whenever someone types a query on the brave search bar, it is not answered by default by the Leo AI, only when the user requests it. This would be to save energy (and therefore costs for Brave) on regular searches, especially, because many queries to the search engine don’t need an AI answer at all, for example, if you are looking for “Mexican restaurants in New York” or “United States Constitution” and therefore is a waste of energy resources.
I hope you can consider this, and I would be happy to know what measure you are taking to mitigate the climate crisis.
