App-switch button on mouse not working - macOS Venture - Logitech MX Master 3S Mouse

Description of the issue:
Hi!
I downloaded Brave today, I really liked it. But over time, I noticed a problem: I can’t switch apps with the mouse if Brave is open in full screen mode. I use App-Switch button on my Logitech MX Master 3S. If I use the touchpad or the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+ArrowLeft/Ctrl+ArrowRight, then everything works. If I close Brave, the mouse also works.

After reading other posts on a similar topic, I noticed that the mouse App-Switch button works in conjunction with the Ctrl. It helps, but it’s still a sad user experience.

How can this issue be reproduced?

  1. Use mouse with App-Switch button
  2. Open Brave in full screen
  3. Try to switch to Desktop

Expected result:
Most of the time, nothing will happen (but it should)

Brave Version( check About Brave):
Version 1.73.104 Chromium: 131.0.6778.204 (Official build), (arm64)

Additional Information:
OS: macOS 13.7.2
Mouse: Logitech MX Master 3S

I use Logi Options+

I hope the problem can be solved.
Thanks!

Ok so this is super dumb, but here’s your fix:

  • Go into Setting > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts (Button) > Mission Control > Expand Misson Control Settings and uncheck Move Left A Space and Move Right a Space. (logiOptions won’t let you assign the gesture if this is still enabled) Leave this window open.
  • Go back to LogiOptions into your Custom Gesture Settings.
  • For the Left Gesture assign a Keyboard Shortcut as CTRL + LeftArrow
  • For the Right Gesture assign a Keyboard Short as CTRL + RightArrow
  • Go back into your Mission Control Shortcuts and check the boxes for move left and move right
  • Boom

Hope this helps.

Hi there,

I encountered a similar issue to the one SweetPotato mentioned regarding switching desktops, and I wanted to try your suggested solution. However, I ran into a problem when attempting to assign the keyboard shortcuts.

In the Custom Gesture Settings (screenshot attached), it seems I can only set modifier keys like Cmd, Alt, and similar. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow me to assign regular keys or characters, such as LeftArrow or others, which are necessary for the setup.

I’d greatly appreciate your guidance on how to resolve this. Is there a specific workaround or setting I might have missed?

Thank you in advance for your help!
