AMD and Brave Hang ups and Crashes

**Description of the issue:**Watching youtube and netflix causing GPU crash or hang up reports, using AMD drivers Adrenalin 25.6.2, This don’t effect other web browsers or games. Just brave and even older drivers still have this issue.

Brave Version (check About Brave): 1.77.126

**Operating System:**windows 11

this is the crash file from windows error report > https://limewire.com/?referrer=pq7i8xx7p2 this is the link to the website since I cant send it any other way.

It looks like you may be a few versions behind. Can you update to 1.80x and let me know if you’re still experiencing crashes? Any Brave crash logs can be found at brave://crashes.

try that, even reinstalled my drivers. This seems to happen when I open netflix it freezes and lags then works. Then I get gpu error report. I even reset all my gpu stuff on default settings and browers on default.

@potikoutlaw need to look at brave://crashes and see if there are any reports. You can see more info on this at Helpful Info & FAQ for Brave Users - #57 by Saoiray

Doing the copy/paste of that, assuming there are any, will help them to know which one is yours and to try to manually pull it.

Things to always check:

  1. Does it happen in private window?
  2. If you disable Use graphics acceleration when available at brave://settings/system does it still happen?
  3. If you create a second browser profile and don’t change anything, does it work well?
  4. Notice any difference if you disable Shields?
  5. If you go to brave://components and try to update everything there, does it show any errors or does it update?
  6. If you use Brave Beta or Brave Nightly, does the issue happen there?
  7. Have you tested on Chrome to see if there are any issues?

try looking for brave://crashes I can not find it, how do I get to it ?

@potikoutlaw you type it in like a web address. Or you can just copy/paste it.

If there’s no crashes in the browser then it will be like below:

If there are crashes but they haven’t been uploaded yet, it will be like below:

And if crash report has been uploaded, should be like below…which is where the crash report ID comes from and would need to be copy/paste
