Description of the issue: As in the title, all previously saved login data including passwords went missing. I can confirm I haven’t created a different profile, and the Login Data file is present in the “Default” folder, with all the encrypted passwords I had saved. I have tried saving new passwords and they do show up in the password manager, and also in the Login Data file with the rest of the older passwords.
I am using Arch Linux, Brave was installed from the AUR, last time I updated it was on May 6th, many days before the incident happened.
As far as I can tell, the problem seems to be related to KWallet somehow
Regardless if it is, you may want to swing by and read NOTICE: Unexplained Data Loss Issue then reply on that topic with the information requested. He’s trying to get that post as a “catch all” to keep on track of people having issues and to gather data. It’s difficult when people have tons of different topics spread out on the same issue.
Thanks for the reply
I actually managed to solve it myself by deleting Brave’s entry on KWallet and restarting the browser, it generated a new entry and all my login data was restored. I’ll also update the browser and report to that thread if I run into any issues or if I figure out what was the cause
