I had this issue today and non of the solutions worked for me.
please help I need my passwords ASAP.
os: windows 11 version 23H2 os build 22635.4225
brave

i have tried --enable-features=SkipUndecryptablePasswords

Hi,
I have the same problem.
this happens in Ubuntu 22 and Linux Arch.

I am running

Version 1.70.123 Chromium: 129.0.6668.89

This problem has been present in both faltpak, AUR. It doesnt matter where i get Brave from, I always have the same problem.

When is it going to be fixed?

Hello,
I have lost all brave saved password after resetting mac password
macOS Ventura 13.7 Brave
Versione 1.70.123 Chromium: 129.0.6668.89 (Build ufficiale) (x86_64)

I have tried:
-update brave to last version
-change brave permissions
-disable access to kaychain of brave in macos security
but nothing solve the problem

  • chrome://flags/#clear-undecryptable-passwords enble and restart brave

I hope in a solution because i have too many passwords saved …

Please note, I realized after losing the first passwords, now I have some passwords saved, I hope it has not overwritten the file, if so which file should I save, I could recover it from time machine

How is that there are treads dating back to Jan 2023 and this issue hasn’t been solved yet? This is embarrassing. Brave, fix this or we’re walking away.

My brave got automatically updated to Version 1.71.123 Chromium: 130.0.6723.116 (Official Build) (64-bit) this week, and now I have lost all my passwords. it’s been 4 years since I have been using Brave and I can’t lose all my passwords. Please tell me there is a way to get them back.

@Mattches and @szilardszaloki I just wanted to tag you guys in again as I’m seeing some miscellaneous post recently, including the most recent here. I’m not sure if you had any updates?

Hi, Yes I have checked all the alternative solutions listed above. As for the link you tagged, I could not find the file on the system.
So no luck getting the passwords back yet

Which version of Brave you’re on. - Brave is up to date: Version 1.73.91 Chromium: 131.0.6778.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)
When you noticed the issue - In the middle of working. the browser suddenly crashed and automatically logged me out from all the websites that I have account. and then all my passwords are gone. I really need those passwords. Is there any way to recover all my passwords?.
If you’ve tried any of the workarounds listed below: - I tried the workarounds that one for windows users.

Please help me.
